Well done to all our staff and pupils for making the wider opening of TJA such a success.  We look forward to welcoming N2 pupils back on 15th June. The parents of these pupils will be contacted by phone or email during the next two days to advise them of arrangements for the readmission of their children. Thank you to all members of our academy community for your continuing support- it is very much appreciated.

ACET Risk Assessment 1st June

We have updated our Safeguarding policy. The updated policy can be found here

ACET sends its best wishes to all members of the community of Thurcroft Junior Academy, hoping that they are managing to stay safe and healthy during these extraordinary times.
The Coronavirus has affected every aspect of our lives, presenting us all with many challenges, so it will come as no surprise that ACET have to announce that as a consequence of the introduction of the lockdown procedures introduced by the government in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, building work at the new Waverley Junior Academy site was interrupted at the end of March.
The extension of the lockdown clearly has increased the likelihood that the academy will not now be ready to be handed over to ACET on August 1st ready for a September 1st opening as planned, so we approached the Chair of Governors and Principal of Thurcroft Junior Academy who kindly offered support in accommodating Waverley children from FS2 to Y6 who will travel by bus to TJA and will be educated and have their breaks separately from TJA children. Our staff will work together to ensure that this temporary arrangement does not impact negatively on the welfare and progress of TJA pupils.
The current expectation is that if it is needed at all, it should only be required for the first part of the first half term, however, we will know more after the government reveals its plans for lifting the lockdown restrictions.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.

  TJA Closure Letter 19.03.20

Thurcroft Junior Academy and ACET understands and greatly appreciates the crucially important work being undertaken by our frontline services, such as the NHS, ambulance, police and fire services, especially during the current Coronavirus pandemic. We recognise the importance of ensuring onsite education for the children of personnel from these services, should staff shortages in the academy enforce partial closures. Therefore, we invite parents/carers who work in frontline services to identify themselves to us by contacting Ruth Stone at

Thank you.
